Here is my plan (maybe). I now have 2 12w6v2's run by a JBL 1200.1. the subs are recommended for 400w. Im getting a new car in about 5 months, so i was thinking of purchasing another 12w6v2 since i have to build another box to fit my vehicle anyways. I will be running it all off that 1 amp, but they will all still recieve 400w. I was wondering....would it be worth it for the extra $300 to purchase another sub?? How much louder would it get???

Theory: You add 3dB by doubling power or adding another sub...you have to decide for yourself if it is worth it, but you will notice a difference in sound...

well i have to build another enclosure anyways for my next vehicle....so if im giong to do it at all i want to do it right at first. what would you do if you were in my situation?? im actually kind of thinking about only adding another sub if i get a SUV...if i get a little sportier car i might just keep what i have

Me??? I would add an extra sub and amp...

i dont have the money to do that ....i might be able to get the money for the amp and sub, but then thats 2400 watts and my electrical system would be taking a beating so i would need to upgrade that.....and then im just talking around $700 or more for everything. Ill either run 3 subs on my 1200.1 or ill just keep my 2 on it.

That is good, just keep in mind the 1200.1 is NOT stable under 1 ohm...

IMO if thats what you wanted to do then ID get the other sub and sell the JBL to get a bigger single amp. ITs a pain haveing the subs and 2 amps, one sub will usually be unevenly powered.

well what kind of higher powered amp could i get for around 300??? My subs are dual 4 ohm. Is there any way of wiring them to somewhere between 1 or 2 ohms??
