Add another sub or not?

I am new to the forum and it's been a while since I have messed around with car audio stuff. I just installed an Eclipse 15" Ti into my explorer in a sealed box with a Jlaudio 1000.1. It sounds great but I still have some extra room in the back and was thinking of adding another of the same sub.

I am curious as to what would be better, one 750watt rms sub with 1000w going to it or 2 of the same sub with 500w going to each. I am a sealed box fan so keep that in mind but I am thinking that I if I went with the two subs and the same amp in a ported it would be more efficient.

I would be interested in any and all opinions

If you can do it then by all means go ahead.

As for power I would sell the JL amp and go buy somthing like the Orion 2500D to power the pair.

Well, I stuck with this amp. It is two new to just turn around and sell it at a loss. I just want to know if 2 subs below their power rating would sound better than 1 sub above its power rating or would the difference be so minimal that it wouldn't be worth it?

I still think by adding another TI, even with the same power, but less per driver, but now you have more Sd, will indeed be louder.

( I wouldn't sell the JL amp either, great piece.)
