actual RMS on Hifonics BX1605d

I am trying to set the gains on my amp and I wanna know how much clean power these actually put out. I know they are slightly overrated but what can I expect to get safely as not to mess up my sub.

Depends on your electrical. I've heard over these only putting out 1000 watts and i've heard of others puttin out up to 1300 watts. Different outputs in different applications.

Setting it for its RMS ratings would be the safest thing to do.

1 x 550w @ 4 ohms

1 x 1100w @ 2 ohms

1 x 1600w @ 1 ohm

Actually, not.Because the amp will probably have to clip to actually make it's rated power lol.

Honestly? Expect about 1300rms.

my friend had one that he bench tested. at 12.2 volts, it put out 1034 watts at 1 ohm, and had just over 1% thd. i am sure others will vary. at 14.4 volts i would expect to see close to 1100rms before hitting 1% thd.

birth sheets don't mean anything if the test is not done properly or done in a misleading way..

i'm sure they have some setup where it will do rated power (14.4V, high THD, etc.)

I wish I would have done a lil more research be4 I would have bought this amp. It was in my price range. I think I paid 209 shipped new. I dont know though just hope it gets the job done pushing my 15" l7
