Active Crossover: 2 or 4 Channels for Front Comps

I am looking to upgrade/repair my car setup right now. I'm planning on ditching the POS stock HU for a Kenwood Excelon, probably the x494, because of its 6-channel 4 volt pre-outs, or maybe a comparable Pioneer unit. The component speakers that I have and want to keep are LPG 26NA tweeters and 7" Vifa mid-woofers. My plan is to get an active crossover, maybe this one, though I'm certainly open to suggestions, and a new amp. My question then is: do I have to get a 4 channel amp or can I get a 2 channel and bridge the highs and lows? Also, does anybody have any suggestions for an amp that would work well for my setup? My budget is small so I'm looking to get the best bang for my buck while still not doing anything half-assed. Just in case it helps to know, the car is a 2005 Scion tC. So it took me like 2 minutes to realize the obviousness of my question. By definition you have to have a channel for each speaker meaning I would have to have a 4-channel amp for the 4 speakers in my front component system. I guess my only question then is for some suggestions for what 4-channel amp would fit my needs. The two woofers are 4-ohm 100wrms and the tweets are 8-ohm 80wrms and they can be wired down to 2-ohms and 4-ohms respectively. Also, I might get a single 12" sub at some point, but just want to focus on getting the HU and components all installed and sounding good before I take on too much. Again thanks for any help.

Sort of cheap and still of good quality would be a Rockford Fosgate P400.4 check out ebay until one comes up you should be able to snag it up for a couple hundred.

Look for some older amps. If you want an easy all in one solution check out the Memphis Big Belle. 5 channels of goodness. There is also a guy here: Korn4Life that has an old Jensen KA5 5 channel amp.
