Accidently put ground into 12v slot

Holy crap. I cant believe how many people dont pay attention when hooking shit up. If you arent going to pay attention at least dont have the 12v live and then double check all connections before fusing.
Exactly!

Rule #1

Disconnect ground from battery. This is more to protect your LIFE over your equipment.

Well i wasnt paying attention when i was wiring my amp. I accidently put the power in the ground input and the ground into the 12v input. Luckily i was holding it as it sparked and was able to pull it out very quickly. The amp still works fine. But could have anything got burnt inside? I would hate to have already damaged my new amp.
i think u should take a break, get something to eat and ship my wire and faceplate! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ha ha sounds like a plan to me

i just unhook the power wire from the batt evertime. its not gonna take that much more time outta the install. now maybe u will disconnect sum wires next time especialy if there not internaly fused.
To avoid the risk of shock, professionals suggest you disconnect the negative before ever touching the positive.

Well i found it better actually that i didnt have it disconnected cause if it was disconnected when i reconnected it back my amp would have blown up cause i would not have been able to take it out quick enough as oppose to when i was just back there

And if you were grounded to your chassis and accidentally touched the positive metal, you would have fried.

had it happen to me recently while diagnosing a freinds install. we accidentally wired them up to the incorrect sources and blew the fuse. we then re-wired it correctly and replaced the fuse and it still blew. so we sent it back :/

twas a kenwood amp

i did that on purpose to my pyle amp and the fse blew.

replaced it 7 times and kept doing it on purpose and the **** things still works.

i have run it on 1 ohm for 4 hours straight with no heatsing completely out of the case and the little ****er still works.

YA my amp is working just it goes into protect at very high volumes
That's because your electrical is not stout...also it is a good indication that maybe the volume knob should be counter clockwise. It could be clipping as well and it's probably distorting like a mothe (though you may not hear it as the standard distortion, it can still be caused).
