about to wire my subs

x2 dvc 4ohms

Need them to be 1 ohm.

Just to be sure...

Inside the box I connect the - to - to terminals out of the box -.

Do that for both speakers.

Then outside of the box, do I go from the terminal - to terminal - (so 1 speaker's terminal has x2 wires in it)

OR do I go from terminal - to amp - and the other terminal - to amp -, so the amp has x2 wires in the same hole?

(and the same for +'s)

There are 4 spots to put speaker terminals on the subwoofers themselves.

2 are black on 1 side, on the other side there are 2 red ones.

Black is - and red is +, right?

I thought it was supposed to be 1 - and 1 + on each side??

I'm confused???

This is the wiring that was inside of the box (just took the subs out to look at it)

Is it correct for a 1 ohm setup?

All the diagrams for 1ohm x2 4ohm dvc's shows 1 + and 1- on EACH side.

This looks like it just has 2 -'s on 1 side and 2 +'s on 1 side.

And there was only 1 wire connected to 1 of the -'s and 1 of the +'s ?

Is this right? Or did the previous owner only power 1 coil or something??

I'm such a noob //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

They're cvr c12d

(d-series)

from like 2000, wtf //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

The only specs I can find say "400 max"

No RMS rating?

I can only wire them up to 2 or 8 ohms, so I'm going to give them 600w @ 2 ohm.

Should the wire go speaker > speaker > amp (2 wires in 1 speaker terminal)

or speaker > amp // speaker > amp ? (2 wires in each amp hole)

index.php
# 1200 x 1 watts @ 1 ohm

# 600 x 1 watts @ 2 ohms

# 300 x 1 watts @ 4 ohms

# 0.153v - 5.6v adjustable input sensitivity

# 15 Hz - 250 Hz Frequency Response

# > 90 dB S/N Ratio

# 4-Way Protection Circuit (Thermal, Overload, Speaker Short, and Over Current)

# 50 Hz - 250 Hz adjustable 12dB Low-Pass Crossover

# 15 Hz - 50 Hz adjustable 12dB Subsonic Filter

# 0 or 180 degree adjustable phase switch

# 0 - 12 dB adjustable bass boost with 60 Hz center frequency

# Wired Remote Control unit included

# 5x 30 Amp Internal Fuses
Ok so, I've run into another problem...

There are 4 things for speaker wires on my amp (specs in quote above)

x2 - next to eachother then x2 + next to eachother.

wtf do i do now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Should I put the speaker - #a into amp - #1

speaker - #b into amp - #2

speaker + #a into amp + #1

speaker + #b into amp + #2

??

Will this give me 2 ohms?

(x2 single 4ohm subs)
