About to order online 6.5" components -- Out of these, best choice?

CDT Audio speakers are designed and engineered in the US, and final assembly is completed in the US. There is 0 association with Image Dynamics. CDT has shallow 6.25" components, CL-62SL. They were designed for extremely shallow doors where a traditional woofer just will not fit. With spacers you should be able to fit many speakers.

One reason to consider CDT over other brands is flexibility. Every woofer and tweeter they sell can be purchased on its own, and for your situation this means a shallow 6.25" or 6.5" woofer could be paired with a smaller tweeter to try to make fitment easier. These are out of your budget, but here's another way to get a new woofer into your doors:

Regarding the tweeters, unless you pick something that others have already fit in the factory tweeter locations, there's a chance that even a tweeter advertised as 3/4" will not drop right in to that sail panel. Car audio is all about making things fit where they don't want to fit.

Thanks guys.

The JBL MS-62C's definitely get great reviews.. They are also a popular choice among stereo enthusiasts on the 350 enthusiast forums.. So they obviously can be made to fit in the car.. (I'll have to dremel out my Panels for the tweeters).. but I think the mids will go in the doors with a 1" MDF spacer. I could order the spacers for $20 new.. or gut my factory speakers.. I'm thinking gutting makes more sense money wise. (The magnets on these factory speakers are the size of a quarter, literally).

Regardless of their tweeter design, people say they aren't too harsh.. surprisingly not harsh. Sounds as good as any.. and that's sort of the understanding I'm getting now,.. there are really a ton of options and none of them are particularly "bad" options out of the speakers I've been considering and recommended.

Seriously, where there is a will there is a way. I ended up cutting out mounting holes in my back seat. Put 6x9's in boxes pointing up though it. Awesome midbass and sound stage from it tho... totally worth destroying my back seat lol. Have them "temporarily finished" I want to replace the ring that holds the foam and cloth in place with plexiglass shaped for it.... eventually I'll get around to it. From the front
