All 360's come with hdmi now, its not only the elite no more. I'm sure Best Buy will not exchange u a new console unless u have there in-store warranty. I bought there in-store warranty to save the headaches, and I don't want no refurb pos from MS when I send it in. Rather walk in BB if anything happens to it and come out with a new system.

yeah were way past the original problem....been using this thread to give update and blog about my issues lol got the refurb back and instantly it freezes up and doesnt work right......it worked last night for like 2 hours but other than that has frozen everytime its been turned on......

tech support said its a good chance ill get a new one this time since itll be the 2nd time ive sent it in but well see.....

Sounds like the old PS1's. I have my 360 in a relatively open entertainment center. Guess I gotta take precautions to ensure good heat dissipation.

Convenience of having a single cable for audio and video to the receiver, then with a nice receiver, converts any video to HDMI for a single cable to the TV. 'Bout it, really. No discernable video differences. The only thing it may have an advantage on is Audio, allowing more channels.

then really no real advantage to me....got a sylvania 26" HDTV and a cheap curtis surround sound system....really bought the HDTV cause it was on sale and i had just bought the 360 and after playing it on my tube tv i was disappointed that it looked just like my regular xbox....after buying the HDTV it was a definite difference....

so if i get a new one with HDMI then cool but if not no big loss to me.

hmm i never got it but 3 of my friends got it.

one of them punched the faceplate not hard but enough to terrorize and it started working and it has been almost 6 months and it never happend again

another one punched the top and it has been 8 months never happened.

and another slapped the top with an open had and has beeen 5 months and it never happend.

The xbox's have a new chip in them, look for one that has a lot number of 734 or higher and build date of 8/24/2007 to increase your chances of getting the cooler cpu. If you want to do more research on it google xbox and falcon (code name of the chip). They are supposed to be worjing on a new gpu chip that will improve it even more but it's not supposed to be out till mid 08 I think it's code name was jasper.

The new halo SE editions that have the new chip are way cooler running than the old ones. Most elites and premiums still have the old chip in them.

anyone know any info about the coolers they have...i bought one but now am a bit worried to use it because i see it basically is just putting 3 fans right on top of the 2 existing fans in the unit..... wouldnt that mess with the existing fans and possibly burn them up?

Mine died about 3-4 weeks ago. I have had it since July 06.

I did the towel trick and it got me through the weekend, then it died again, so I sent it out. A buddy of mine had the same thing happen to his and he got it back in 2 weeks. Im still waiting on mine though.

i use the 15.00 one i got at walmart, it is a base you set the 360 on(vertical) and has fans in the bottom that blow air into the intake vents on the side/bottom(vertical), it works great.

how much sense does this make.....they overnighted me the game im getting for free due to their shitty system YET I STILL HAVENT GOTTEN MY BOX AND HAVE A BROKEN XBOX!!!! what good does an overnighted game do me if i cant play it.....and the box and game come from the same place......how did microsoft become billionaires again?

so i just called xbox and they said my case has been transferred to "upper management" i am awaiting a call from them between 5 and 7

has anyone else had this before? what does it mean when you get transferred to upper management?
