?about red ring of death!!

is this the cooler with the 3 fans that attaches to the back of the 360? if so i've heard some bad things about that one messing up the 360.
well there were some complaints on gamestop.com that they thought it actually hindered performance based on the theory that it takes power away from the system....

i dont know...so far so good...hell the tech support guy is the one that told me to buy it when i was yelling at him for not getting mine back and getting someone elses refurb....

what did you hear was happening?

 
its been a while since i read anything about it. i dont remember exactly waht the issue was.
yeah the ones ive read all say that its too loud and that they thought it hurt the xbox due to power issues...saying because of it the unit isnt getting the power itneeds....id ont know that 3 little computer fans really take that much power to run but i really dont care since its under warranty another 2 years lol

i just still couldnt believe when the tech support told me to buy it....i mean how are you going to make me spend 400 dollars for a game system and then say i gotta spend another 20 to maintain it.......morons lol once ps3 drops in price a little i may buy one.....or sell this one and buy the elite xbox....i hope they have fixed the design flaws on the new ones.....

 
well spoke too soon.....freezing again...even with the hard drive off..... no extra fan everything sitting in free air with nothing obstructing ventilation.....

happened with both madden and need for speed most wanted so i know its not just a madden issue....

im going to pitch a fit in a minute to tech support...maybe i can get an elite out of the issue lol i mean god even after the **** tech support told me how great there testing is on refurb units i find it funny that this happens....if testing is so extensive how did this leave the warehouse messed up from the get go....arrrggghhhhh

anyone else have this issue?

 
well called support......for once i had a guy i could actually understand what he was saying....everything is going to be overnighted for me....getting a new box within 24 hours (last time took 7 days to get), im getting a free game (gave me a list to chose from, all games i wouldnt want but i got Viva Pinata for my niece lol) and they want me to send my power supply as well this time....

said he again couldnt guarantee me a new one but said i have a better chance of getting a new one because its the second time im sending it in....

hopefully it wont take a month to get this one back.......

 
yeah the lady i talked to i couldn't understand what she was sayin, i just kept saying yeah...lol..but i have a question, since i have gotten mine back, i always have to sign in now, everytime i turn it on i have to, how do i get it to not do that.

 
I got my 360 about this time last year at bet buy. I got the extended warranty. Mine go the red ring of death in October, I just took mine back to the best buy and got a brand new one with the HDMI output and got a $50.00 credit since the price the dropped since I got mine so I used that for the warranty again. Anytime I buy something from best buy that is electronic I buy the warranty for it it saves you alot of headache in the long run. I was even able to get a warranty for a game I bought there so if that breaks I get new game no questions asked.

 
Today I spent 10 minutes JUST trying to tell the stupid indian my phone number...couldn't get it right for his life. All I wanted to do was cancel my ****ing subscription on an alt account. I hate this outsourcing crap.

 
Both times I have called MS support, I've gotten someone easy to understand. Once to cancel a live acount, and the other for my friend's RRoD. I was expecting an assault of questions that have jack shit to do with the RRoD, that I am sure he would give them the wrong answer. "Router, Power strip", etc. NOTHING that has anything to do with the system's temp. I work tech support for Genie openers, so I know what kind of crap tech support has to spew to help weasel a company out of a crappy design.

pretty much when you say you got the rrod they just say ok, well send you a box...im pretty sure once you get the rrod there really isnt troubleshooting to fix it...im pretty sure that just means ur f-ed lol

at the top of your screen where its got your gamertag and your i guess gamer pic or whatever...click that and there should be an option for auto sign in....just click enable.

they gave you the elite in exchange or do the new pro come with the HDMI?

 
All 360's come with hdmi now, its not only the elite no more. I'm sure Best Buy will not exchange u a new console unless u have there in-store warranty. I bought there in-store warranty to save the headaches, and I don't want no refurb pos from MS when I send it in. Rather walk in BB if anything happens to it and come out with a new system.
