?about red ring of death!!

My brother has a 360 and a few days ago it stopped playing sound... it played fine before dinner then we cut it back on and no sound at all... its only 1 month old.. we gonna take it to wally world for a replacemnt

i walked into circuit city with a rrod'd 360 premium and $70..walked out with an elite...it took me a lot of *****ing though

I got rrod and set it into MS. Got a new one back, and haven't had a problem since.

Try to get a new one from best buy first. Better heating displacement by the heat sinks etc.

so i got my xbox back after a month....well they sent me a refurb that wasnt my original.....i *****ed and *****ed to try and get a new one but the supervisor on tech support gave me some bs that he couldnt do that.......then assured me that a refurb is in fact better than getting a new one because of the extensive testing they go through before they leave........

well ive tried to play it 4 times and 3 times it frozen on me about 10 minutes in....the back gets extremely hot!!! im pissed to say the least.........

i had the same thing, the red ring, got mine back in a week, works as good as new, i would call them up and pitch a ***** about it not working and try to get a new one, then have them give you free shit for your troubles

i was on the phone with this guy for about an hour trying to get a new one instead of a refurb....sounded like he had heard that a million times that night...he wasnt giving in at all lol i went to xbox.com and i am doing their trouble shooting right now....said screen freezes can be fixed my emptying the system cache and or deleting saved game files......tried the cache thing and so far so good....

Hopefuly I dont get the ring, lately it has frozen a couple of times and thrown the disc error at me. I got it new on fathers day..

At the moment the 1st controller jack has ****ed up on me so I am having to use the jack in the back to plug up my controller and now I cant play on 2 player b/c the jack is ****ed up...

I am glad I didnt put my money into it..

im pretty sure this summer...3 year warranty only applies if you get the red rings..otherwise its still a year....but its as easy as you get the red rings call them, they send you a box and free postage....sucks cause it takes a month and you dont get yours back, you get someone elses refurb back....but at least they are owning up to their mistake....my ps2 died 3 days after the warranty was up and they wanted 179 to fix it.....you could buy a new one for 199 lol

my original one had problems, sent it in got a new one. one i've had now has been dropped/knocked off the table 2x and i still have no problems w/ it.

shouldve raised hell about it, when my disc drive broke in my ps2 sony fixed it for me for free out of warranty. That is one of the main reasons why i value my PS3 over my 360.

you know i went and bought a used original xbox from gamestop.....this was one of the originals, i left the thing on all the time.....i mean constantly and it never had one problem......thats what made me an xbox fan.....

im sure with the new ones they have fixed the design flaws and they are probably better but youd think something i payed 400 bucks for wouldnt be so delicate.....the thing gets insanely hot....

im sure most of the failures are probably due to poor ventilation by the customers....i had a friend that kept his in an enclosed entertainment center and wondered why it burned up in 2 months!

again though it sucks something you paid 400 bucks or more for is so delicate.

my screen started freezing on me to, then i tried to play ncaa 06, froze up, restarted and got the red rings. Needless to say i wanted to throw it through the window, because i only had it 6 months and it did that.
