i have a buddy who has 2 18" GEN1 strokers and is entertaining offers but is really reluctant to sell because there a limited run of daul 2ohm subs. my ? is if he decides to keep them he wants to run those earthquake shredder amps. either 2 D2amps or 1 D3. i dont think these are the amps or amp to run but we need some opinions. obviously its an SPL setup and it in a 99 yukon 4 door. ill post in another area on box selection for them.

I've ran several Earthquake amps including the PHD3's....PHD5000's and the PHD 10,000's ...they all were well built amps and put out lots of power....I never ran mine below recomended ohm loads...and mine had decent battery to back them up....overall they are really efficient and pretty clean power....

why is there 10kw amp rated at 6kw then lol

sorry i just dislike the earthquake stuff as a whole. I dont see how they can do the power they claim with the limited number of transistors on the board

they over rate their amps like most amps do these days mainly to stay competitive in sales...Pioneer...Kenwood...Sony....RF.....numerous off brands....for example ......most brands do now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif.....I don't like how companys do that and wish they would rate their amps properly...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

? is now do i run a monster amp thats gonna cost an arm and leg @ 1/2 ohm with both those dual 2s in bridged parallel or do i run 2 amps @ 1ohm load or do i run 2 amps @ 2ohm loads.each sub would get its own amp. what the hell do i use? id imagine that the 1/2ohm load would not be the choice. and opt for 2 amps to run full power @ 1ohm to each sub.
