About $2 billion in economic stimulus rebate checks are being confiscated

it takes more than finances to raise a child. it would've been better for me if he didn't have to pay at all. it really hurts to see your father living in a garage and left with nothing while being nagged by my mother "has he paid his child support yet?"
I won't pretend to know your exact circumstances, but I will say I feel no sympathy for your dad. I understand it takes more than money to raise a child, but if you don't have the means, then you shouldn't have a child. This is why I feel no sympathy for the parent on either side. I do feel for the real victims (the kids). It is hard to make a spliut fair and both sides are always constantly saying they are screwed over because they only worry of themselves.

This is true. Your dad's case seems to be pretty extreme. These days, you really need a prenup when you get married. Your dad would have had a much easier time paying for child support if he didn't have to completely rebuild his life after the divorce.
Pre-nup doesn't cover child support.

Pre-nup only covers rich *** folks from paying too much alimony. Most states have done away with alimony. The states that still allow alimony only award it in cases where the agreement that she not work in the relationship was mutual or he is one rich ****.

Pre-nup is a good idea if you are a successful person in an alimony state or to protect any pre-marital assets one may have in any state. It however doesn't prevent you from paying abundant child support.

i agree with you in the respect that if you can't afford it, dont have kids. i have no sympathy for those of you that knocked up a one night stand and are now paying for it. however, when my sister and i were born, my father could afford it. things change and 10 yrs later and he could barely afford to take care of himself.

There are a lot of idiots in this thread.

Also Korn that post you quoted me on, wasn't for your dumbass. Learn to comprehend dipshit!

I personally don't think it takes 1400 dollars a month when the child is just a baby. Maybe the older they get, yes, that could be the case, but not when they are that young. I spend quite a bit, but not 1400 a month.

they took my 300 and put it towards my 1300 owed in taxes since i was being paid under the table and filed to be a good person. lol IRS FTL

No, but if he had a prenup, he wouldn't have lost everything when he got divorced. Not having to rebuild his entire life would have made it a lot easier to pay child support.

It's a lot easier to have a lawyer draw up a prenup than it is to hire a lawyer good enough to get you through a divorce without losing your ***.

Perhaps you should have waited to have children until you had a real career and a woman worth mating with.
If you knock up a dumb lazy hoe, it's your own **** fault. Should the money get used that way? No. But if you really think your child is getting neglected, you should file for custody instead of *****ing about your lazy ex. Man up and take responsibility for your mistakes.

Just to clarify a few things, I am the ex or as he refers to me the lazy hoe. To clarify a few things, he cheated on me because I was lazy, what he neglects to tell people was that I was going through kidney failure at the time and went on diaylsis. Also while he was out cheating I was HOME sick with our daughter. Two years ago I went into a coma was given no hope of living, where was he then, His daughter never saw him. He can't blaim it on me, can't blaime it on my parents, they were with me. He was asked to help instead he signed off his rights and his exact words were "someone needs to be responsible for her". His daughter was losing her mother, and he couldn't be bothered to even call her. As for the child support, he should keep his mouth shut, he hasn't been paying his child support. Which is fine, pay now or pay later. Our daughter get's 100% of that money. If he can sleep at night good for him. I personally would and will do whatever for my daughter.
