Okay...where does the other $550 go? What if they are not in day care? I know for certain my father did not spend 1/3 of his check on me.For the most part, this is true. But sometimes there are aspects of it that some do not realize.
Daycare for one child is $450/m. For 2 it is $740.
As I said, for the most part.Okay...where does the other $550 go? What if they are not in day care? I know for certain my father did not spend 1/3 of his check on me.
Yes, I didnt even think about the cost of insurance.Food, toys, medicine if need be, etc. There is a very valid use for 550, or even a thousand dollars. Especially with today's prices. Is a child entitled to it? No. Is it reasonable? Well that's up to you to decide. You say no, i disagree.
Food is marginal....they eat what I eat. My parents didn't fool around with all those crazy *** expensive diet plans for kids, nor did we have 50 million toys lying around cluttering up the house.Food, toys, medicine if need be, etc. There is a very valid use for 550, or even a thousand dollars. I guess it depends on the plan. Adding a child to my plan is $7.Yes, I didnt even think about the cost of insurance.
if the dad lost his job then the support is readjusted. its not a fixed rate until the kids 18. the sad thing is there are some loser dads out there that quit their nice paying job just to screw the kid and mom. i worked with guys that wouldnt work OT, or bid on better jobs just so their kids wouldnt get more money. This is where I disagree. I do not think anyone is entitled to anything. The child is not entitled to expensive things because of the wealth of the father. What if the dad lost his job, etc? I just disagree with any social program that creates entitlements. Fairness is for whiners.
She mentioned the child is over that age. I am going to call my mom. I drank that powdered milk stuff...much cheaper than similac or whatever they have out now. Notice I didn't die. Also notice the infant mortality rate has actually increased since the 80s.Not the first year+
Stick to number crunching and not child rearing.I think what the issue is, people want their children to have a life they didn't or have nice things. I have a friend who spent several hundred dollars on a bed frame thing for his kid. I sleep with a mattress on the floor for years until I bought a plain and simple frame. Not a headboard, not a suit, a $79 frame. My child can sleep on a simple frame as well.
BTW: this is where me and teh gf have issue....I have no problem climbing in a dumpster to get nice used shit, whereas she wants nicer and newer things.
While i dont think doing that is fundamentally wrong. I do think you should be aware of society and its perception of you. It seems common for people to have the fuck em' attitude, but i'm not sure how wise that is for a number of reasons.I think what the issue is, people want their children to have a life they didn't or have nice things. That is how my parents raised me. Much of life was no frills. I didn't have designer clothes until I bought them. I just see many kids getting way more "stuff" than they need. My friend is always buying his kid cookies, cakes, and stuff. Why? It seems like a waste. I don't eat those things so I see no reason to introduce them to it.Stick to number crunching and not child rearing.
