AA Assassin 12 Box Reccomendations???

I have 4 AA Assasssin 12's. I do believe I am going to buy either a Cadence Z7000 or a Hifonics BXI1600bd to power the subs. Maybe even a Power Acousik A3000d.

I was wondering what size box would be best for these subs? I love ported boxes. I've built quite a few of them. The box is going to go into an EXT cab Tacoma. My last box was right at 12cuft. It housed two RE SX 15's. I'd like this one to be much smaller.

I wouldnt go much smaller than 7-8 cubes after displacement....so your still gonna have a huge box ported //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I had the 8s tuned to 35 HZ, but those were the 8s. I would do 32....your choking them a little at 1.5....

i had mine in 1.75ft^3 @ 32Hz (each) and i loved it. i'd shoot for at least that size or bigger if possible. they can handle PLENTY of power, BTW.

MBrock4U: NO truck lid here. Just in an ext cab truck. I thought i was going to have to replace my back glass with the two re sx 15's. I wonder if these will be as loud??

What is the best way to position a box in that truck? Subs up and ports up? Subs up and ports forward? Subs forward and ports forward? Subs forward and ports up?

In a truck the two most popular setups ive seen is subs up ports up as well as subs forward ports up.

here's the box: 3.5ft^3 @ 32Hz (50in^2 of port)

nice and simple, you might be able to figure out something better for a truck, though (wider).

fits perfect in the back of my accord, but takes up almost the whole trunk so now i have a 32 x 14 x 14 box (2ft^3 @ 35Hz) for a single Assassin, but it's not nearly as loud.

good news is, i've been sending it over 600W for a few weeks now (daily driving, not loud very often), and it seems to be taking it fine!

i just built a 5.5@31Hz box today for..... 2 12's

the lowend should be SICK. its replacing my brahma 12 for the time being, i can model up a box for you later just let me know what kind of sound your looking for. all out spl/SQL/SQ and major low end...

Assassin 12's are good in 2 cubes to 32 for louder bass and 2.5-3 to 28 for some sick lowend.

chad of AA just sent me and email and he siad that they are raising the recommenations for the assassin ported from 2cubes to 2.5 so id do that at 32hz

well, when i asked chad about putting two of them in 3.5ft^3 @ 32Hz he said that'd be fine, and i could even go smaller if i needed to. anyways, bigger is definitely going to give you flatter response and more low end, i think it just matters how much room you have, if you've got 2.5ft^3 each, i say go for it!

ps. i called AA today and got a message about updating stuff. are they coming out with new drivers? or is it just new/more specs?
