A Type X and L7 question.

I just scored on a Alpine 12" Type X and getting a custom box built to fit the specs of the sub. It's going in my Isuzu Trooper pushed with a MTX 1501d. I know have 2 12" L7s by reading all of the threads and soaking up as much information from you guys as I can (thank you by the way) I take it that the type x will have alot better sq than the L7s and the L7s will just be louder. The L7s are not in a custom built enclosure. They are in one of them new Pro box super bass enclosures. Any info would me appreciated. Off to work I go. The question was basically will the type X hit as hard as my L7s do with better sound quality? Like hitting them lows end notes. I guess I am lookind for the loudness of my L7s but with more SQ.

it wont hit anywhere near as hard as your L7's do, but it will have better sq.

Bummer!! I guess I will just have to hear it and see which one I prefer the best. Which will probably be SQ.

My type-x's should be here anyday. You could have the best of both worlds, and swap in the type-x for trips and daily driving, and throw the l7's in instead for when you wanna thump loud.

Doesn't sound like a bad deal to me.

Yea, thats exactly what I was thinking. I already have all my employees hitting me up for my L7s and have'nt even got me box built yet for the X. Which should be done Tuesday or Wedsday. But yeah, Keep'em all and have the best of both worlds. I am really a more SQ person, but **** it is nice to have them L7s hit the back of your head when Pantera's beating on that double bass on "Cowboys from Hell. yep straight up if you want sq get the the x's they will slaughter most subs on the markert in sq imo if you want spl get l7's proven winners for getting really loud really cheap

Man I got a good deal on that type X. $250 new in the box. A desperate soul wanted money for Mardi Gras. So SCORE... I could'nt pass that up. I am ready to see (hear) if it lives up to all the hype. I will be sure to let you know. If the dude will hurry up with the custom box.
