A ton of possibilities and I need help!

Hey Guys,

I've been over at caraudioforum.com asking a few questions, and I know a lot of members of that forum are also members here, but this one seems to have a bigger member base. I wanted to ask the same question to a bigger group of people and see what type of response I get.

Right now, my system isn't "amazing." I have a Sony Head unit which runs to a 4 channel alpine amp in the trunk. That amp controls my 4 interior speakers (polk audio components in the front and sony xploads in the back.) I have a 4 gauge power wire coming off the battery and running to a distribution block in the back. One 8 Ga. wire goes into my alpine amp, and I'm going to use another for my new amp.

Now I'm having a tough time trying to figure out which subwoofer(s) to buy and which amp to power them. I'm really leaning towards one of the cadence 1000.1 amps. Either the cadence DCA-1000.1 or the TXA-1000d.

I know that pushes 1000 w RMS at 1 ohm, and I want to get the most out of it. Now the tough part.

I was in my friends car the other day and he only had 1 12", but when he turned it up, it was amazing how much bass you could actually feel. That's what I like in a sub/ subs. Sound quality is important too though.

Alot of people have recommended the Fi Q, Fi BL, and the Alpine type x. I have an 05 toyota corolla with a ton of trunk space, so I am trying to decide between like 2 500 W RMS 12"s...or 1 1000 W 15"...I am going to build my own box, and I'm leaning towards going ported.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Matt

I can afford to sx12" no problem...and I can build the ported box...BUT with my electrical system what would I need to do as far as an amp...I'm assuming since I have 2 subs...if I get a mono amp I can probably wire it to a 1 ohm load and push 2000 w rms...which sub would do that for me...and what would I need to do electrical wise. Like I said right now I have the 4 ga wire off the battery breaking in to 2 8 ga wires going to my amps.

you will need to upgrade electrical, maybe 200 amp alternator and a 2000-2500 watt mono amp. Upgrade to 1 gauge as well.

BTW: Your system is going to be awesome man, good luck

Okay so the alternator upgrade will fix my electrical problem...so your recommendation is the hifonics bxi 2608 which puts out 2600 w RMS at 1 ohm...and 2 12" hdcs in a ported box. If I order the HDCs will it let me choose 1 ohm 2 ohm or 4 ohm? If I get 4 ohm, how will I wire the subs to the amp to push the most power? Will 2600W RMS push those things over their limit...I've already completely melted the voice coil on a kenwood 400w rms sub with a 500w rms amp in a matter of minutes...lmao. I'd hate to destroy a system like this.
