Subs for Nissan 350z - space limited..

Long story short...

My friend thinks two HDC3 12" subs will sound fine in his 350z with this box:

I told him it will sound like shit.

He doesnt want to believe that they wont sound good because he thinks that the open cab and that the subs are good quality make up for it. I tried to tell him even with the best sub a shitty box makes it all go down the crapper..

So he says, "ill fill it with poly and it will be fine"

Those are like 1.10 cuft chambers each and after displacement its like .80 cuft.. I dont think the poly will help with anything.

So im asking your opinion, do you guys think it will work out good or should he be getting different subs? Or even if you know of a better box.

The space is limited so, if anyone knows what works well in a 350z and produces LARGE amounts of bass (140db +) let me know so i can tell em.

Alright well what would be a BETTER option?

DB wise?

He wants it to be decent quality too.

He will be really disappointed if it is less output than his 2 12" R's in his trunk.

He wants atleast 140db...

There really isn't much of a problem buying a prefab sealed enclosure, but HDC's aren't built to be run sealed. I would choose from drivers like the Fi Q, RE SE, AA Havoc. Or do a single ported 12.

Also, the Stereo Integrity Mag v4. It's built just for small, sealed boxes.

They've been quite popular, so I don't know when they are going to get them back in. If no one on this board chimes in, you should e-mail SI and ask. Personally, I would wait to get my hands on a pair of those. But there are plenty of other drivers that would also work well in your application. IDMax is another good choice.
