A need for a 12w7 amp

I presently have a Kenwood KAC-X8910d running around 600 watts at 3 ohms. (The amp can run at 4ohms.400 / 2ohms.800 / 1ohm.1600) I was wondering which would be better for an upgrade.

ALPINE MRV-1507 1500w max @4ohms: (cheaper, internal fan, 105s/n ratio

or

JL AUDIO 1000/1 1000w max @ 1.5-4ohms : (variable voltages, expensive)

The alpine is alot cheaper although is the actual wattage lower than 1000w?

Between these two, let me know which one you would pick! Thanks

The JL for sure, the alpine is 600x1 @4ohms and it's not rated to take lower than a 4ohm load when bridged. The JL is at least 1000x1. You shouldn't even consider the pine.

Well, the JL amp is probably going to give you one of the absolute cleanest signals, but it depends on what you're looking to do. You could always pick up a JBL 1200.1 fairly cheap, which should push around 900W @ 3ohm. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but it's a very clean, reliable design.

Of course, another thing to consider is the option of getting a second sub and bridging down to a 1.5ohm load, which would give you around 1200W from your existing Kenwood amp. But that's probably not the best way to go in terms of cost.

Thanks for the replies...hmm well I do have my mind set on the JL 1000/1 for sure but is there anything else to bring the 12w7 to full operation for anything lower or same price as the JL amp? Thanks

for 1 12w7 you need about 750 watts at 3ohms, okay....... i'm thinking, to save money - skip the 1000/1 you don't have to have that, you can go w/a amp that is very powerful at 2ohms and kinda powerful at 4ohms - example-

jbl 1200.1

kicker 1200.1

rf 1000bd

all these amps are cheaper than 1000/1 JL, and should be powerful enough to run 1 12w7, and also if you added another one, these amps should how up for that too.... esp the jbl1200.1
