My crap-pot 12s on my crap-pot amp officially hit hard enough to make my CD player skip. While you might turn your nose up at this, but I can run over railroad tracks at 30 mph and it not skip. Not to mention how terrible my setup is in general.

On a side note, I'm selling my 12's tomorrow and ordering a DC315 right afterwards, gonna be great.

no such thing. i only got 142 out of my 15 on its first run im not ashamed to put it up. not to mention it would be nice to have a starting point to improve on
I'm not sure exactly where I can go to get metered, I'll call the local audio store and see if they have a termlab.

first system i got metered was my single 12 that was rebuilt by psi running on a dsc 1500. did 140 db drag 143 usaci and 165 in the port
explain to me the different methods of metering please, outlaw, legal, ect.

also, I'm thinking about using that textured spray paint with some clearcoat to finish off the box, does anyone have any experience with that?

make sure its calibrated. i went to a local shop and did a 146.5 on cvr 12's on 750 watts. LOL. it was a audiocontrol meter and i'm pretty sure it was wrong.
The Audio Control mic is known to be horrific. One of my friends was bragging about doing 160 on the AC with his pair of 18s and four Power 1000BDs in a GM full sized, extended cab truck. When they switched to a TermLab, he barely eeked out a 144 on the same setup then gave up on SPL all together.

Out of the amps you mentioned Kenwood 805 hands down best bang for the buck. You won't be able to tell any difference from 5x7 to 6.5. You may...

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.
