dynamat not worth the $$$$ wth ..

I'm not a big fan of dynamat vs other deadeners, but it does what it's supposed to do. Maybe you should use more but the #1 most important part of deadening is tightening everything down. You'd have to make your back hatch MUCH heavier if you want it to stop that movement. Deadener is to stop panel flex... not keep your back hatch from blowing apart. That's what those bumpers and bolts are for back there. Tighten it all up. Put a little dynamat on the back of the license plate.

Next time you buy deadener buy AudioTechnix

They have some good information I suppose... but I'm skeptical of their open cell and closed cell foams. I've seen many people try them... none with good results.
don did a whol vehicle over at ssa. check it out and see if your people did it right. i have great results. and they only have close cell last i checked.

Sound deadening is most certainly not overrated, the problem is when people buy the wrong products, apply them incorrectly, and/or expect the product to do something it can't. To get the best results you have to treat it as a system, multiple products for the correct application. Read Don's site for the information on how each product works, whether you choose to buy anything else or not, you'll have a better understanding.

Also, I've NEVER read a negative thing about their products when used correctly, not once. When I do my car, I'm definitely going with their stuff.

x2. With any product, when used incorrectly or for another purpose, it doesn't always work because its doing something that is not its job.

[Yup, I was there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

well i see my dynamat and 4 hrs spent is working well NOThttp://s299.photobucket.com/albums/mm316/buckeyesr1/?action=view&current=011.mp4
Dynamat is a high quality product. No vibration damper will fix what's going on there. The license plate rattle can be fixed by gluing about 10 cents worth of closed cell foam behind it. If you want it to stop moving, you'll have to improvise a four point bolt down.

The tougher issue is that you are creating more pressure than your vehicle can contain. Pressure builds and finally releases as the panel distorts and the seal gives way. The only thing that will solve that is some big time re-engineering - reinforce the panels so they don't distort and and replace the latching mechanism with something that will not yield.

Let me get this straight: my customers are telling me they are happy with my products and then coming to you to express their dissatisfaction? That's extraordinary. What do they expect you to do about it? I'm especially concerned about those complaining to you about my open cell foam - since I don't sell open cell foam. Love to hear some specifics. Also love to hear why AudioTechnix makes more sense than any other option out there.
