A little pissed off here....

I have a 15 inch subwoofer, its an Ma audio Hkx12 magnet with a Psi recone on it. The thing is loud, been very great for me.

Im getting someone to send in a magnet over to dave to recone that one as well so i can have dual subwoofers.

But the one I have now, i just noticed it making a noise that sounds like fucking coil rub. I push lightly on the cone, it doesnt make the noise. I push harder on the cone, and it makes this noise like im tapping on the cone with my finger. It completely playable, it just makes this stupid *** noise.

So now, I have no idea if this sub is going bad now, I shined a flashlight inside and the coil is fresh as ****, shining bright, and looking great. But I don't know if i need to recone it now.

Only had the sub going for 3 months so far without any problems. The last few songs ive been playing have been "Get silly" and I think that really low *** note just ran my sub out of possible tuning range....or excursion limits

Do I keep playing it with my other subwoofer that i get soon, and just let it do whatever, possibly blow, or do I shell out another 165$ for a recone......

Im not going to bed happy tonight.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

If you bottomed out the sub there's a good chance you bent the coil/former and while it hasn't been abused thermally (not blackened) if it's rubbing eventually it'll probably get worse, lock up, then burn up.
