blue scosche wire used to be my main power wire, now just running to my small amp so its no big, the red XXX i'm impressed with though

Shielded as in to protect the signal...to allow a nice clean signal to be amplified...pretty much keeps out outside noise...It actually doesn't look ALL THAT BAD being that you said you're a newb...atleast you used 4awg wiring and not speaker wire for your power/ground

i actually got those caps and buss bars from a friend who is not longer into car audio, he got them like 3 years ago.

they are made by voodoo if that helps, they are pretty nice, they work as a distribution block as well.
