a little help

first off id like to say hello everyone. I am new to the site. however i am not new to car audio, but im not a pro either lol

so heres my problem/Question

i am running a "12 JL W3 D4 and a "12 JBL (not sure of the specs on the JBL) off of a JL JX500/1 amp. recently i installed a power acoustiks pwm-19bc equalizer. but it seems i cant get the setting right on it. now i was told by a friend i cannot run this because my amp has a built in crossover that i cannot turn on and off. i cannot get it to sound right at all. any ideas?? maybe i cant run this eq with my amp

first off, DONT mix different types of subs together, you will get massive cancellation which reduces bass output and kills sound quality. Sell one and get the same of the other and put them in a proper custom ported box not some premade box.

second, power accoustik is a junk company, you are better off leaving that out of the equation for your system.
