A little Advice...

Okay I'm looking for a new comp set around $150-200 that sounds clean and gets decently loud. Have about 150 rms to send to em. I had the rsds and didn't really like em that much. I also had a pair of infinity reference and thought they were about equal to the rsds. Then was gonna get a pair of kicker ks's but listened to them at circuit and wasn't really that impressed. So now im upping my budget a little hoping to find a much better pair.

Guess it could have been.... I deadened the doors with dynamat so thought that would have helped. They were running off a kicker zx350.2 so like 110 rms at 4ohms but i'm selling that and I'm gonna try to get the 350.4 which will do 175 x 2 at 4 ohms bridged from what I have read. I don't know. I just didn't like the way the rsds sounded because I used to have the reference and then got the rsds and it wasn't that they didn't sound good, but it wasn't a noticable difference imo. Maybe the kicker ks's sound good in a car, but they sounded like butt at circuit on the demo wall so I decided to come here for advice. What gauge speaker wire would you reccommend running 150 watts off of??? and do you think a plastic speaker baffle makes a big difference

I use a "plastic" baffle (cutting board), but it is 3/8" thick, and when I install my 6.5" s they will go in mdf baffles

wire sizes, I do not use anything less than 16gauge for anything

Okay, I think I'm going to run 12 ga wires for my 2 speakers. I bought the plastic bafffles i guess. They are 1" thick. Just the adapters from best buy cuz I got em for like $1.23 lol. But what speakers would you reccommend?

Thanks... do you have pros and cons of each? what do you know about the rainbows.. I seem to be leaning towards them for around 200ish used but idk i'm definitely open to any suggestions at this point

I've read great reviews of both. I actually have a set of the pioneers coming to me hopefully some time next week. I'll let you know once I get a chance to try them out. I'm not familiar with rainbow, but people either seem to love them or hate them.

It is my honest opinion you wont find a crisper or more midbass speaker than CDT Audio The CL series is the best I have heard in its price range. You can hit up Exige on here or there was a B stock sale on Ebay for $150.00 They sound fantastic and durable as hell.
