I've finally decided to go with a single 15 ported setup...bout 4cu.ft.tuned to bout 33hz

Ive got canidates in mind...but havent looked every where...

Canidates

Audioque HDC3

FI SSD (w/copper coil) or Q(stock)

Kicker CVX

Alpine Type R

TC-Sounds tc-9

I want to power it with this:

Hifonics BXi 1206D

2400-Watt Brutus Mono Amplifier

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=16367

But I also looked at these...

MB Quart RWE-352 - MB Quart Reference Series 15" 1400 Watt DVC Subwoofer

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=3416

If I went with those, I would get two and throw them in a sealed box. Ive heard that MB Quart makes pretty good speakers...And Ive also read that these are pretty good in a sealed box...These are nice because if i got them...i wouldnt be spending alot of cash. I know what sealed boxes sound like...my father had one...i loved the punchiness of the bass.

All in all...i wanna be loud...i wanna be unique...i want speakers that I KNOW nobody at my school will have...i wanna sound good...i want some good advice!

Thanks

SQL, but yeah.

The New HD3c will beg you for more power, so i would say thats out of the picture. I like the ssd's, but if your looking for a more musical woofer, i think the sound of the Q would be your best bet.

The amp you have is severly overrated, should put out around 900w at 1 ohm or so.

Ive never personally heard those MBq woofers, but if you are looking to get loud, those are the opposite direction, and a sealed box is even more in the opposite direction of loudness.

Ive heard nothing but good things about the Tc-9's, should get decently loud off 900-1k w

Lastly, you cant go wrong with a Type R, but everyone has them, since they are known to the general public.. aka best buy.

I say go with a Q.

Well what is a better amp...I can find a better amp...

I like the price of the HDC3's and the specs...they are said to be round 1000 rms...but i know they can take more...like 1200-1500 watts easy...but i want a musical woofer

Ive looked at the Q in the past...Ive read the reviews and heard nothing but good things...Ima look more into that TC-9 though

The Hd3's handling was 1000w, which was severly underrated as i had 2500w runnin to one at one point.

The new HDC3 is 2kw RMS. http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=243193

If you're looking for a better amp, i would stay away from the hifonics brutus line. It all depends on how much you are looking to spend. If 400 is your cap, id look for a sundown 1500, or an IA 20.1. If you are on a small budget, i would NOT buy new, look for a used diamond audio 1500w or 1200w amp. And when you're looking for amps, look at the RMS rating, as peak power means nothing at all. just a pointer.

I say, find a kicker ZX1200.1 for 300 bucks, and buy a Q. and be done.

Meh, i just got out of high school.

If your on a budget, i would suggest buying used.

And the DC sounds 15" L4 cannot be beat for 210 dollars.

Or just buy used.

you could prob add the ssa icon to that list as well...

its pretty new, so theirs not many reviews of it yet (although you can find 1 i think in the review section here)

i'm pretty sure that no one at your school is gonna have one of them as well

supposed to be pretty good
