I cannot say that I recall motorcycle manufacturers deciding that mirrors were a superfluous option anytime recently...

Matter of fact there is a pretty sizeable aftermarket in mirrors as the ones that come on bikes from the factory generally look pretty cheesy...

But - bikes don't have rearview mirrors? Whatever you're smoking must cost you a pretty penny...

That is why I asked you what the **** you were talking about. That is also why I asked you when your air cooled bike was made.

In Cali, it has ALWAYS been legal and that is soley due to the fact that nothing has ever been written to make it illegal. The reason for that start with my original explination. It is just one of those things from an earlier time that was never changed.

Just like how it is illegal to perform a puppet show in a public window in New York, and how it is illegal to wear blue eye liner in Kansas.

Old stupid things there were inherited from previous generations.

Smart riders move to the front of ANY pack of cars because it is the safest place. This is the reason why splitting lanes is legal, well here in Cali at least.

Okay, maybe not racing, but definitely showboating.

So after the gravel was clear, he decided it'd be okay to do 100+ shortly after? Just on a whim, not trying to prove anything? He had mirrors, he could see me keeping a farther distance from him than I would a car, so it's not like he kept looking AT ME for no purpose. I know my car sucks, and I know that no one in their right mind would bother with it. I have two friends who ride, so it's not like I'm thinking "ZOMG ALL RIDERS ARE DOUCHENOZZLES NON-CAGERS".

Meh. I just thought it was humorous, because my car sucks, and it seemed like he thought I'd be impressed, or the other drivers near me would be. Carry on.

Of course motorcycles have mirrors. However, many of them are useless. On mine I can't see past my arms, so I turn and look back before I ever change lanes. I'm not saying this guy wasn't being an arse, just giving a little perspective from a riders point of view.
