If you have ever been on a motorcycle, you would realize that like the sideview mirrors on a car, do not let you see everything you need to see...... I think the correct terminology for the spaces you cannot see through your mirrors is called a blind spot. That is why you turn your head, look back, etc...
ALSO, the mirrors vibrate so bad on the bikes all you can see is a blob of traffic... you need to turn your head to see who is behind or to the sides of you.... its called being a DEFENSIVE driver.

Edit: you have been on a motorcycle. However, it is a lot easier to see out of my father's cruizer than my gixxer.

This thread has turned to total shit. It should be re-named to the grade-school insult thread. Quit calling each other names, and show facts to arguments.

Other than that, no one knows what really happened anyways. Everything in this whole thread, starting from the origional post, was all opinions.

Still doesn't explain his erratic speed changes and unnecessary acceleration in expressway traffic. That is the biggest point. The looking back was merely details in the story.

A Porche challenged me... did I turn him down? no. but I was on 83 at about 1:30, 40 miles without any cars except him, and no one in sight. so I accepted. I had fun, that's what racing is good for. fun.
