I know that most people use 1/0 but i have some 1 gauge that i was thinking about using for power for my earthquake phd2. currently it is hooked up with a 4 gauge but i am only running 2 rf hx2's, i am taking that out and am going to install it into my other car, but i am going to use 4 rf hx2's. Has anyone ever used a 1 guage instead of a 1/0? They are about the same sizes so i figured i can use a 200 amp anl fuse for 1/0.

Second question, for my subs i am using 8 guage for all four, but my amp only has an opening for 1 8 gauge. I have been trying to figure out how i can fit all four 8's for the positive and all four 8's for the negative. i was thinking of getting a scotch lock and running all four 8's in with an additional 8 as a pigtail. does anyone have any other ideas. the reason i am doing this is because all 4 subs are dual 4 ohm, so i am wiring them to 8 ohm, and then running all of the positives and negatives together to get a 2 ohm load. any help would be appreciated.

attached is a picture of how i am wiring it, curtesy of rockford fosgate.

they are the same size wire. as far as connecting the 8 awg wire together i would invest in a pair of distribution blocks, you can get those easily for less than $20 shipped, but trust me your setup will look better and be much easier to manage.they are almost idiotically simple to install, just wire all the subs up to the output connections of the distro block and send the one single input strand back to the amps speaker terminals. try and squeeze 4 awg into the amps terminals and wire that to the distro block if you can. i think it would be much easier to use 12 awg but if you already have the 8 awg then go for it. good luck.

any other questions then just holla back.

The SIA is a great line of amps. People like to hate. My little SIA does work with 4-8's. And it bangs the lows.
