$99 HD DVD players!

So I bought one of those $348 laptops for my mom. lol

Did anybody get offered extended warranty? I asked them about it, they said when they ring it up it should of asked us, but the lady who was at the register wasn't all that smart and didn't ask me. So does this item offer an extended warranty? Cause if they do I'm going to have to go back and get it.

I got it for the pc, was $98 for 2 years. total was $478

i hooked mine up and so far right out of the box....im far from impressed....then again my TV is no respected piece of machinery anyway

is your tv HDTV ready? you have to use the HDMI to upconvert regular DVD's.

yes its HDTV and i have a HDMI cable....im trying to do the firmware update right now but im getting a no server error.

Vizio 42" HDTV and its a HD copy of Lucky number Slevin....

right now though im trying to do the firmware update and im getting a message of "can not find server"

anyone know what to do about this?

could someone either IM me or post up....i dont have a CD burner atm either so i cant download and burn the ISO and do it via disk.

you need to burn it as an "image" to a cdr and then load it on your dvd player and make sure the power doesnt go out and dont touch ANYTHING while its updating, when its done in about 20-30 minutes it will open the dvd tray and you take out the cd and turn it back on.

Well you can try disconneting your router or modem and while the player is connected reconnect the the modem or router and then turn on the player and try again. If that doesnt work then it could be the server is busy since so many people have just bought it.

If you have like a wireless router or anything between your modem connect the player directly to the modem.

It allows you to play like 4 movies that weren't working with the player. Nothing real special!

ha....well then to be honest....so far compared to some blu ray stuff ive seen in stores im not really impressed with this....hmmmm

I got to my local Walllyworld at 7:55am and was around number 20 in line and they had around 25+ left when I got mine.

AVS has very positive reviews about this player. I'm going to try it on the PJ first, even though it's not an HD it'll display up to 1080i. If it doesn't look good I'll hook it up to the HD TV in the bedroom and see if HD really makes a diff.

lucky number slevin isnt all that good, pick up something like transformers or just look at this list...
