Got mines this morning. Updating the firmware on mines right now though. Looks a lot better/beefier then my samsung upconvert for sure.. About to watch V For Vendetta soon.

**edit the only thing higher end players do better is they are hdmi 1.3 and do 1080p 24 fps (which very little sets have the capability of doing-My tv doesnt even accept 1080p and joetema doesnt even accepts 1080p 24fps) and plays dvds with slightly better picture quality. (not HD media just regualar dvds)**

HDMI 1.3 is irrelavant. Just a marketing pitch. The only way that matters is if both units are cable of accepting a 1.3 signal. Which a 1.3 cable isn't even needed then, just any hdmi cable!

I know I was just pointing it out, I am going this weekend to drop $5,000 on a new projector and it does accept 1080p 24 fps but I doubt its even hdmi 1.3.... and I doubt If I go spend $500 on the best HD DVD player that the picture quality would improve much, barely if any. My ps3 does 1080p 24 fps so Ill compare two warner brother discs on each format and ill bet it will be almost identical.

I swung by 2 Walmarts here this morning at around 10AM, and they said each store around here only got 20 in stock, and they were all gone before the store even opened.

Also swung by a Best Buy and they didn't have any.

Sucks...I'll just wait till either Black Friday or Christmas to pick up a HD player..

I swung by 2 Walmarts here this morning at around 10AM, and they said each store around here only got 20 in stock, and they were all gone before the store even opened.
Also swung by a Best Buy and they didn't have any.

Sucks...I'll just wait till either Black Friday or Christmas to pick up a HD player..

Yeah you really had to be there either on time, or at least an hour ahead. I was there like almost 2 hours ahead just to get it.

Did anybody get offered extended warranty? I asked them about it, they said when they ring it up it should of asked us, but the lady who was at the register wasn't all that smart and didn't ask me. So does this item offer an extended warranty? Cause if they do I'm going to have to go back and get it.

Yeah, you definitely won't be going there at 10am, you'll be going there at 6-8pm the day before if you want anything.
