you do know that the parts are toyota parts that can be have for cheaps right? and if thats the sc400 then you don't have to worry about the egine.

I have the same engine in my ls and its got 200k miles on it and nothing has ever gone wrong with it.

I'll trade it anyday but i would get to know about the history of the car first.

another thing to check,be back by the exhaust when he starts it and see if it smokes.

pop the hood and listen for noises too.

that car def.rides better than your truck, dont know about the body kit though, but that just me.

Lexus looks too ricey for me, I'd keep the truck. Not only for that reason but like others have mentioned, repair costs are through the roof.
only if you go through a lexus dealership/ lexus mechanic. I worked as a mechanic for a couple years and the lexus and toyota parts are interchangeable on most models. its alot cheaper to fix your broken lexus parts with toyota parts and you usually wont notice the difference.

This is the same as a Toyota Soarer. Very popular to do TT Supra engine/***** in. I say do it only if you're going to commit $5-10K in restoration and do it right. Check in door jams and behind panels for signs of it being in an accident. Check for rust!!! Hawaii will fk a car up unless you detail and maintain. I bet a bruddah already knew dat though.

do it!! 107k that lex is just gettin broke in.I love my 95 sc3, 5 spd.im tryin to save up the money for a turbo kit for mine..its just as reliable as the 400 by the way. the v8 and the straight 6 are both tanks. The six that comes in the 300 is a 2jzge the same exact motor that comes in the non turbo supras and the only differance from the turbo motor is the turbo itself and a slightly differant cylinder head..people go well into the 9's (quarter mile)with just turbo upgrades on bone stock block and heads...even if your not into goin fast im just sayin these things can take a beating.

things that do commonly go bad on these things...window regulators, power antennas, climate control display wich can be pretty expensive, and the power steering wheel tilt gears strip too..all i can think of at the moment

go check out the sc section on clublexus.com forum. ill post some pics of my sc when later

you can do the swap for fairly cheap but for just a little more you can just do a

na-t kit and make mo powa..big single turbo swap is the way to go for the non turbo and the turbo motors..most people that do the tt swap end up going big single anyway wich is the best option of all for making serious power but also the most costly route.

search sc300 on youtube you'll find some sick drag videos of na-t 300's..a guy over on cl.com just posted his runnin like a 9.33 i beleive..

haha...notice the soarer symbol is my ava

Ditch the body kit if you do get it. only thing that worries me is its age. 17 years old already, especially in "rusty" living conditions, jack it up and look underneath it make sure the frame is still intact lol...
