98' firebird, sleeper ftw
Alright if someone can give me some detailed instructions/help/pics/anything to help ill pay a little $$$ paypal for some advice.

I have a 98 Firebird.

1000W mono Kicker Amp

12" Kicker L7 in a small *** sealed box.

Optima yellow Battary

4gauge Wire.

Kenwood Reciever.

Im 15 and not really sure on how to wire all this, I ordered the reciever off crutchfield and it came with all the stuff i need for a clean install.

Ill map up a quick drawing of what i think will work ** please correct me **

ALSO I DON'T REALLY KNOW HOW TO WIRE THE WIRES THROUGH THE FIREWALL!

sample: (yes i know its not an F-body, just showing a top of a car)

Please help. be as detailed as possible! I don't wana blow this shit up!.

im not totally sure if your going to need 2 batterys with only 1 L7. anyways if you really want to run it then id suggest you get a battery tray for the rear or however you want to mount it. basically for power your gonna wanna do the big 3 so search that. your gonna do a run from the hood through the firewall(usually in a open grommet) and are gonna hook up the postive to the postive of the battery. a battery terminal from knukonceptz works great anyhows run that postivie to the amp too. im not 100% sure but you can run the ground from the amp to the chasis make sure its touching the body and scrape the paint in that area. also run the ground from that back battery to that point too. power is done.

signal wise youll just need to run a 2 channel RCA from the headunit to your amp.

when runnings these wires its best to take up the plastic interior panels and run it under the carpet or whatever has the most area.

The kid I bought it from gave me all that stuff.

Battary Tray, RCA cable, battary terminal etc. he had this in a 98 mustang. im just having a shit load of trouble finding the spot to run the wires through the firewall, I looked all over yesterday under the hood, their seems to be wires running on the top left side of the firewall like going to the dash area. Im just going to run the cables under the back seat and front seat under the carpet. and I have metal in the back because its an hatchback i can lift up some carpet and ground the wires *I THINK**

your gonna wanna look more from the inside out so you know that the hole is gonna come inside and not in behind the dash or so. im sure there is a big grommet you can slice into and run. id check some firebird forums and ask them cause i have a SUV so im lost there.

grounding wise your gonna wanna find a good spot like a thru bolt, seatbeat bolts. something you know is very sturdy cause they will be close to the frame.

right behind the wheel well is a big *** grommet. you cant miss it.

when i say big i mean like 6"s in diameter. should come into the car down behind the kick panel. if all else fails run it under the car zip tied to the frame rails.

all you needa do is get to the metal on the bottom of your hatch, under your carpet, take a 2x2" piece of sand paper and sand the paint away thoroughly. then ground it with a screw and sprocket washer.

cut the sound dampening away from under nerath the carpet also as it can be pretty conductive when it gets hott.

Ok....first for the firewall......

open your hood and on the passenger side right next to the firewall you will see your ecu... unbolt the 10mm bolts and life the computer out of the way.... then you will see a big grommet that you can easily pass a 1/0 wire through.... this is the best spot in these cars 1 because the grommet is so big, and 2 because it is directly in-line with the battery..

2... your hatch area.... yes you do have this giant flat spot where your amps would go perfectly ... I am talking the area directly behind your backseat before you get to your "cargo well".... well directly under that area is your gas tank...so i would advise taking a piece of wood and placing under the carpet before you screw any thing down!!!!! find a spot under one of the side trim panels for ground...or else you will be very sorry....
