4.3 before displacement. It was a pain to get it all taped off and get the first layer of fiberglass down, that's why I quit after one layer and let it dry, took it out and then added more layers for strength. If I were to do it again I would tough it out and do all the layers at once in the car. The way I did it caused it to warp a little from the heat of all the added layers on the thin mold.is that before displacement ?? wow you fit more back there than i was told i ever could you have given me hope was it hard to work there ?? i looking to fit 4 before displacement tuned to 36htz
was just thinking that.. OP therefore has no idea what its even tuned at .. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gifshould of done some research...you do realize that the length of the port effects how the sub sounds to you?
X2 But excellent glassing work.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gifI would have gone with at LEAST two 4" ports personally.
Good work though.
you have to be able to hear the air getting "forced" out of those ports. Like a chuffing sound...I can't really say that I knew exactly what I was doing on the ports. I really did cheap out on not using aeros, I know, but was trying to get by without much money. I talked to the guys at DD about ported vs sealed given my volume, and they suggested ported and gave me the specs for the ports if I were to use 3in diameter.
What would I gain by using larger ports?
