My Box Build

Well over the past few weeks I have been working on designs to get exactly what I wanted to fit in my vehicle. This box is built purely for music and I just wanted something to hit the lows. I am not looking to get numbers out of this box or subs because I know they aren't amazing. Since I am only 18 years old and don't have my own tools, my uncle helped me build this whole thing so I could learn how to do alot of woodworking with his tools. Well on to the stats/pics.

External Dimensions: 41.5W x 18H x 19D

Each chamber is 2.2 Cu Ft tuned to 35 Hz.

Green LED's for the extra Dbzzz.

All comments are welcome and appreciated.

I will have the finished pictures tomorrow because it is too dark out now to take any. So far I love it! It hits the lows pretty well and it really rumbles the car. I'm going to bondo the whole thing, smooth it out and paint the whole thing satin black pretty soon. So let me know what you think.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Side note: Anyone with an SUV.. How do you dampen your rear window from rattling. I have a 2000 Ford Explorer and my window now seems to rattle around a good bit.. Any tips for quieting this down would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Caleb

Currently I am running Audiobahn AW1200's. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif They are the older models, but I will probably be upgrading pretty soon.. These are just a set I have had for a year or so and finally decided to make something for them that can be used for whatever I choose to go with next! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Cool.

The trick to the window is copper pipe foam/insulator(like a pool noodle but softer) from the hardware. Wrap it around the weather seal and the window should close tight against it. It eventually keeps the shape too.

Worked for my Tahoe but you'll get the idea if you need smaller.

Thanks everyone! I was really excited to get it under way and when we finally finished it up, I was really impressed! I can't wait to build more in the future! If I go back out to the car tonight I'll take pics of the box in the car!

be happy you can take advantage of all those nice tools, it ***** when you dont have good equipment to make your cuts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

In order to answer your question, I would need to know what model (e.g. SW4200, SW7524DVC). Also, are you looking to make a ported box or sealed?
