91 Cavalier sound problems

I screwed up with the right front speaker and the battery it works fine. So I guess this is a problem with the unit itself then?

make sure there isn't a short in the two wires going from the headunit to the front right speaker

The battery trick you were talking about. I put the wrong sides on the battery I guess Idk but I got the noise from the speaker you were talking about

Dude, hook up the antenna, put it on fm, and see if you get noise.

Put the AA batteries down now

so you have it all wired up correctly now? and everything works?

Actually the exact opposite lol..... I rewired everything the same as before except I didn't wire the 2 front speakers and now all I'm getting is stand by

I think it's just the unit. I got it from my brother in law who bought it awhile ago. This isn't the first time put a deck in before it's just this one is being a *****.
