Having a hell of a time trying to get predicted port velocity to an acceptable level here, with two 15s at 3400w in a vented box around this size (20x24x45 is the DROP DEAD MAX external box size I can fit, 10.5cf gross). Do I absolutely have to keep port velocity under 20m/s or is higher OK in a high-powered car subwoofer setup? Mid-size sedan, back seats, subs facing up.

I've placed an order for two Fi BTL 15"s, I finally came up with a box design I think will work, 7.5cf net, 11cf gross, tuned to 31-32 hz. Torres' speaker box calculator is great. Realistically I think I will only be putting 3200w to these, by my calculations that should keep port airspeed to a reasonable level. I think I'm going to get a Sundown 3500d for the amp.
