8" system

I wouldnt give the Assassins any less than 200 RMS each. They get plenty loud though off that power...get a new amp...Dollar for dollar they are louder than RLis, as you can get six for the price of two RLs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I know that ED is not the most popular but they also come with a three year warrantee and the price is just a bit more than the Assassins, especially if you are buying an amp at the same time and get a package price.

However, I have not yet installed mine so I cannot speak to their performance yet. If you are curious at go to ROE or the IC and search on the 9kv.2 vids.. some impressive things... they even have some 6.5's running in the high 140s.

Take a look at this, impressive...

Well the reason I want 8's (for those of you who don't already know) is because I love the thought of surprising people when they think I have a 10 or a 12 or whatever and I show them that I only have 8's.. like I stated before.. my goal here is to have only 8's and have it sound like I have a 12 or whatever.. and if I need a new amp then o'well I need a new amp.. Thanks for everyone's help.. Keep the suggestions and opinions comming..

Someone over at car stereos did a drop in comparison with four Kvs and four assassins...the assassins came up on top //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

ive been wanting to do a single 8" for comp use, and i was looking at the *** 8 then the rli 8, id go with a single rl-i8, but like 4 AA 8s since they are cheaer would be good for you maybe, but actually i would do 2 audioque SD's with a good 600w class d amp

I have 3 MTX 5500 DVC 8's in a ported enclosure and I'm running an MTX 7801 mono amp to them and they absolutely hammer when I crank them up, but they also sound really nice. I was skeptical at first, but I really didn't want to give up any space in my crew cab. I am VERY happy with the outcome.

**** Hugh thats nice, what kind of truck is that? i have a friend with a crew cab silverado and he cant decide on what he is going to put in the back. whats the mounting depth for that setup?

And about the 8"s just look at hot carls video..... thats the way to go imo

It's a crew cab Silverado. I'm not sure of the mounting depth of the subs, but nothing was moved or modified to make the enclosure fit. You can't see it in the pics, but it is vented on both sides of the box. It sounds really good.
