8" midbass choice

I'm fiberglassing my door panels in my 01 explorer for a single 8 on each side. I'm down to silver flutes , crescendo pwx or the SA neo pro v1. (V2 are just out of my price range). Whichever set will be 4 ohm ran active of a ppi 900.4. Don't have a lick of experience with none of them. Heard great things about the flutes and good and bad on both the pwx's and sa's. What would y'all choose? Thanks in advance.

depends on what your looking for.

PWX is very warm sounding and the most mid bass.

Neo pro is more mid range.

Silver flute I don't have experience with but I've heard they are good SQ mids.

Wanted spl and decent midbass from which ever one. I know the SF will sound great in sq and midbass but won't have the spl I'm looking for. Upgrading sub stage soon. So from your experience the pwx will be a good choice?

Yea I had 4 PWX 10" mids on a Taramps DSP3000 and they had crazy mid bass and got loud too.

pwx has a lot of good upper midbass in the 100hz region. Silverflutes will have deeper midbass down low. However the pwx should be louder.

Yea that's what I thought about the pwxs to the flutes. Hopfully in some sealed pods around .3 to .4 the pwxs will get me solid down to 80Hz.

I thought the PVXs and the Neos didn't drop very low? Too me, if you are going to trouble of placing an 8 into a door, it should go lower than 80hz. I do know they are on the loud side, but don't play low. Out of theses options I would try the flutes or look for a decent 8 inch midbass used so it gets into your price range.

I liked my volvo/dynaudio 8s..they played to 50 hz and very shallow...

I was hoping the pwx's would go down to 80 because that's were I cross @ now. I don't have any experience with them so I don't know. I planned on glassing the bottom portion of my door for the 8 and not covering the factory 6.5 for a midrange someday.is there any problem with running the mid bass and midrange in the door and tweeter in the apillar?

Do i understand corretly. you are going to use a 6.5" for midrange someday? So for now you want a 8" that matches up with your tweeters? what 6.5" are you going to use?

Yes^^. I could use the soundqubed 6.5's pros I already have, not sure how they would do for the midrange.

You guys are all *** backwards. No way any 8" mid will sound great above 1500 hz without some serious design tech to do so.

You need a strong midbass and a efficient midrange with a good tweeter to get really loud.

MX-383 decent sounding set that will get loud.
