Looking for a 6.5" driver (SQ) that I can push with >100 watt rms each. I like the NVX XSP65 / SB Acoustics SB17MFC35-4 but they are rated for 50 watts each.

Budget wise around or under $150 per speaker

And if anybody wants to offer a tweeter suggestions that work together that would be great. Thanks

You could get the SB Acoustic's Flagship Satori 6.5". They use to cost over $250 each when they were still being made in Denmark. With the most recent price drop they're about $150ea. Amazing driver for a 2way system.

The NVX nsptw is a nice detailed tweeter made by SB Acoustics, good value for the money.

I've been looking into the satori as well, is the cone material going to be an issue for car audio. I think its "egyptian papyrus"...paper i guess?

That's debatable, if you leave your windows down a lot and living in Fla you need consider that. I know of many who run Scan Revs in doors for years without issues. These seem to me to be a bit more moisture resistance than the Scans, waxs,... in the mix or what have you, in the paper.

I'm a window open guy, and I've been running mine in the doors for 10 month 18,000 miles and they still appear to be in perfect shape. I did buy some MTX foam speaker baffles from Crutchfield to put behind them to protect them but haven't put them on yet. Personally i think foam baffles would protect them enough for me.

The off axis performance is crazy good. I haven't heard anything like them. You can cross them just about as high as you want. The midrange is really remarkable, and midbass is very good down to 80hz in doors. If you want to play them lower than 80hz sealed pods would be recommended. The only driver id think about replacing these with are the Sinfoni Meastoso but they're 3xs more $$.
