I have about $700 to spend, and I want to get a new setup for the car.

I drive a Mazdaspeed 3, which is a 5-door hatch. I need good sound quality, with the ability to get loud on occasion. Basically, if I have to pick, SQ is more important.

I listen to metal, rock, and some jazz. I need the bass to be quick and punchy, with a lot of weight.

I am willing to sacrifice my whole trunk, so I can go with 1 or 2 subs, 10, 12, or 15".

Amp cannot be more than my stock electircal can handle (I already have another 600w 4 channel running in the car).

Ideas? I see the FI q series are nice. I also have been looking at the PPI flat-cones. Pheonix gold RSD, or maybe the ID, IDQ or max?

Get one or two of the Ed 13Av.2 for $70 closeout and a Nine.1 from Ed. Or a similar powered 1k amp and have someone local build you a box or make a package deal.

MtX TA 7801 does 1200@ 1 ohm and runs around 250.

Or go all aout and get a ID max for around 400 and a kicker 750.1 for around 200 and build a box for around 100. Either way youre set up for some serious SQL

fi q and jl w6 some of the best I have heard.....they sound almost exactly the same with the q having more output

and the jl costing twice as much //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

My current subs are Phoenix gold Xenon 12d2's. Will I notice a large improvement with any of the stuff above?

What is a decent amp that can put out 1000w @ 2/4 ohm that wont cost me too much?

The 13Av.2s are NOT on closeout - I wish lol but you mean the Ov.2's

I just ordered an FI Q 12". I am going to use it with my 600w amp at 1 ohm, which should be plenty of power.

And rec's for another amp that will work better with the Q?
