$700 budget, wtf to get.......

well the cash inst in. but thatll be the max of what i have to work with. if i can spend less then thats good but i relaize ill probly be spending it all... here's what i have:

QUAD .7ohm coils

i need an amp or amps thatll allow me to do anywhere between 2500-3500w for daily at whatever ohm. then be able to burp a shit ton of power for comps at whatever ohm.

i really, really, really dont wanna have to worry about adjusting 2 gains with a dmm for the 1 sub. i did that with my 2 mtx 1501d's and it was a pain in the ***. so strappable is good if it's 2 amps. hell 4 orion 1200'd might be fun. if it's 2 strappable amps they need to both be able to be controled by the remote gain knob plugged into the master one. i hate haveing to control sub level through the deck, i want my knob.

2500w for daily is good enough for me, wouldnt mind somewhere around 3000 for daily. and for comps i want to be able to squeeze 4000-5000w if not more out of the amp(s). we all know the best price is on used stuff so suggestions plz...

i was thinking 2 vfl 150.1's if they dont get sodl away from me (.35ohm dcr on each amp for comps and 1.4 on each for daily)

i also wanted to do 2 orion 2500d's but aparently they arnt strappable. even though they have a master/slave type thing on them ive been recommended against useing that.... optidrive 4000d is a lil less than my budget but might do good. id love a memphis 4kw but only if i could get it for a good price....2 PB 3000d's? they're strappable...

i almost wanna get another kx 2500.1 but the ****ers dont strap and i hate haveing to carefulyl adjust the gains on each amp.....

i thought about 2 sundowns but after seeing thier test results......3700w+ would be nice but thatd have to be for daily...cant burp em low liek i want to...and if i gonna spend this much on amps i need plenty for daily and a good shit ton on tap for burps.... i want a 40.1 but ima need to sell a kidney to afford one even though there's one for cheap right now.....

maybe an optidrive 4000d for now...and another down the road.....

I think you may be mistaken about burping them low. How low are you talking? I've got a dealer burping them at 0.175 ohms in his competition car since he was able to maintain 13.6 volts from a starting voltage of 14.3 volts for the burp. Alot of the low impedance burp stability will depend on how well you can maintain voltage.

hmmm......id can get to 0.175ohm dcr (.25ohm nominal).....im actually thinking about keeping the kicker and useing the money from my touchscreen to get a new HO alty. between the cash i have and the cash i get back from the screen, ill spend too much on an amp and then have to wait months and months to get enough to buy the alty. the kicker is so efficent that if i get a 240amp ho alt and wanna run 5kw or more....ill need realtivly efficent amps since i cant afford to beef of the electrical with more batteries much more.....

and karts i want ur kx really badly..... iknwo u need cahs really bad... im dropping the price on my touchscreen to something fairly reasonable. if it sells soon i might be able to pay for the majority of the amp. i'll pm you

hcca d5000's. ive always wanted 2500d's and jason (rawdog

) had a .9dB gain from a 2500d to a d5000. there were problem with a big batch of these that has bad chip problems and solenoids on the protection cicuit thatd **** up....however im not too worried about that since the bad batch was taken care of, and im going to be really careful with them

best of all there's the master slave feature so i dont have to carefully tune them every time i switch soemthing around back there. and the master and its slave can be controled by the remote gain, which is also a plus. variable ssf which something the kx didnt have (just an on/off at 25Hz). i know the kx is a better built amp, but there's features id liek that the orion has the kicker is lacking. most of all i hate haveing to worry about 2 gain settings, especially when a slightly accidental unknown bump on one amps knob could kill my woofer. hated it with the 1501d's, dont want it again..

daily load on each amp will be 1.4ohm dcr, giveing me roughly 1700w per amp (i think 3400w is enough for daily //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif )

then for burps, .35ohm dcr on each amp. rawdog (who used t be sponsored by them and has had plenty of expeience with these) ran them hard at .35 for burps numerous times, and even left them at that for daily for a little while. i'll only be useing them at that for burps (probly lol). i think the main cause of these and 2500d failing (besides the 2500d's not likeing high preamp voltage) is shitty electricaly.....and before i add the 2nd d5000s ill have mine beefed of and ready.

i think ill play with the kx and the d5000 some and if there isnt too much of a notciable differance ill probly go with the orions. im sure heads up the kx will be the better amp, but its how much better thatll make my final choice. if the orion doesnt meet up to my expectations im going with dual kickers
