6x9's or 6.5"s

i'm going for more bassy types. I'm getting two 15's and the guy said that i would need something else to hear my mids and highs because the 15's would drown it out. So what would give me the mids and highs the best?

i would go with some 6x9's

i have a pair of pioneer 6x9 4 ways(ts-a995) and they put out more highs than i can handle
