6x8 Speakers?

Im looking to put new speakers in my ford explorer. Whats a good 6x8 speaker? I will be installing the Pioneer p780 and I would prefer not too install amps for the speakers.

Look for an efficient speaker if you are not going to be running amps... pioneer, infinity, rockford, kicker... all kinds of speaks around.

Do not get 6x8s. You can easily make a mod and fit 6.5s in the explorer.

Look for an adaptor plate. You can get em at pep boys. 6.5's > 6x9 or 6x8

6x9 and 6x8 are more bassy speakers. 6.5's are more musical and need less power. Its is also a good idea to look into component speakers. It might be a lil more expensive but its worth it. It comes with tweters and most of the time crossovers which helps alot.

6.5's are the way to go but if you're really lazy and just want to drop something in get Pioneer Revs

There's nothing wrong with 6x8 speakers. There's really no reason to do the custom work to fit 6.5" speakers unless there is a certain type that you would much rather choose from.

To be quite honest, if you aren't amping them, anything other than bottom-line speakers will do. If you don't plan to amplify them, either stick with your stock speakers or just get some cheap replacements, because you won't notice much of a difference either way.
