Im looking to buy a new amp to power my ed15k D2. Im trying to get one for under 200$ so im considering the JBL 600.1 and running it at 1ohm for 600watts or the profile CA1200 and running it bridged wired at 4ohms for 900watts. From what i hear the JBL is underratted and the Profile is overrated. I can get the profile for about 20$ cheaper but 20$ doesnt really make a difference to me so which amp would you suggest?

The profile is not overrated, and it is not underrated, they do what they say and thats it. Theyre good solid reliable amps for the money and im very happy with them. Ive had mine running at 2 ohms for over a year and it hasnt overheated yet.

i second the profile. i liked my olde 600msx more than my JBL 600.1 even though the JBL did 200 watts RMS more.
Hey Gsteg have you seen my sig on SIN? Look for me, Marty85. Look at my signature hehe. But yes either way the Profile1200 will do the 900 rms at 4 ohms it says. My 600msx has been running at 2ohms for over a year and has never overheated as I stated. And I know for a fact that it puts out what it says it will do, 410 watts at 2ohms cuz ive tested it with a DMM. They are good reliable amps if you treat them well, try to run them under the ohm loads they are rated for, wont last long. Run them well into clipping, wont last long. But they are good amps.

hmm the profile sounds good then, my ed15k is only rated for 750watts rms so ill have some overhead then and i can keep the gains low.

Sounds like a good deal to me. They really are good amps as long as you treat them well. They may not have the durability of other amps but its still pretty good in my opinion. Mine has even been rained on and it hasnt hurt it. They arent like other amps that you can abuse and abuse and they just take a beating such as RF, KICKER, or the such but you treat them well, they will treat you well.

whoa! i had a dual 4ohm e15k before. it was hooked up to the profile. it was a nice combo. it was pretty loud too. more than i could handle. and i had it in a 2.2 cubic feet ported box. thats suffocating it. should i have gone 3.5 cubic feet, all he|| break loose. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/satan.gif.9c6a335ed7aeeed3ee273e573f1fcaac.gif

i wish i hadn't sold my profile. i liked it as much as my current dei amp. but its in good hands right now. sold it to a close friend..

which reminds me..there is a 600msx being sold for $50+shipping. i might jump on that :veryhappy

Shoot yea man I would be all over that thing. But I dont really need another sub amp anymore. Now I need an amp for my components. I was looking at a Profile CA200 from thezeb for only 70 bux shipped. After that happens, then I might look into a bigger sub amp to keep up with my components lol.
