watch those vids^

That should be enough reading and videos to teach well...everything..

The sls are 8ohm so youll be giving them way less power than you think. They have good reviews but keep that in mind. I dont believe there is a 4ohm version.
0.75cuft is ALOT when talking about a sealed enclosure. If you have 5inches deep by 10 high by 15 wide. Thats still only .43cuft. Take some measurements and youll start to see why enclosures are so **** difficult.

The issue with mounting the enclosure to the panel is that the panel isnt designed to take that weight. Imagine screwing big blocks randomly to your door card. Now a ton of deadener ontop and then a big heavy speaker thats outputting energy constantly. Its a recipe for a hard time. You'll have to create multiple extra mounting points yourself which is a chore on its own to make look good. Basically fiberglass is your best bet. Very strong and lightweight.

Honestly I have no problem fiberglassing. I just need to match the paint in my car. Which I can lookup the vin code so that's not an issue. How do you feel about these? They seem to fit the bill imo https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/approx-8-woofers/silver-flute-w20rc38-04-ohm-8-wool-cone/
so if I want to do anything bigger than 6.5 I should get a dsp. Point taken, I run in network mode now and I'm somewhat familiar with it. You and @The Camry have been giving great knowledge on the topic but I honestly don't know enough to fully understand everything you guys are talking about... halfway convinced I should switch my major to something audio related just so I can build my dream system with ease.. lol
I'm going to buy myself a dsp and do this exactly; im gonna get the c dsp then probably going to seal my 18 because I feel like that would suit what I want from it. I'll put 8s in the doors, probably do wide bands in my a pillars since that's where my tweeter location is. Then run the the 5&6 channels to a set of coaxials in my rear doors. Going to strip my back deck and deaden it silly and spend a day or two in a city a couple hours away because nobody in western Washington seams to own an rta lol. I don't want to skim out just to save a few bucks. Might as well do a full investment since this will be my first nice front stage.. I'll probably end up contacting one or both of you when I get my funds together for advice on drivers and what not.
I think you'll do fine, no matter how long it takes or what you end up with. Like Camry said, take your time and think things out. He covered most of what I was going to respond to with driver choice and volume so I won't ramble on. But be sure to choose either the wideband drivers OR coaxials. You don't want both. You want a single source for high frequencies if imaging is important to you. Good luck and have fun.
I sat in cars with subs up front that sounded like they where in the back due to bad blending.
@ciaonzo I suppose with a dsp I could've put a sub in the fronk of my old MR-2 and used the dsp to make it sound righ couldn't I have? Instead I put two ported 12 boxes behind my seats and was sitting stomach to the wheel for 3 months lol

That being said, I've been spoiled by modern processing devices and would never do an install without it. No matter what drivers I would ever attempt to throw together in any manner, I will always prefer to use DSP to flesh out every last bit of performance from those drivers. And yeah, to cover up some ugliness as well. I'ts inevitable that you will run into these things in the vehicle. But I will also pull some clever tricks out of my hat to lay the foundation of the install, long before I begin applying the first bit of DSP to finalize everything.

Yeah I decided today that I'm going to get a full dsp. After watching videos of high end SQ systems in cars on YouTube I'm sold on it lol. Sounds heavenly through my phone speaker. I like the c dsp for the fact of how cheap it is. Are they overall good dsps? Would it really be worth double the money to get audison or hertz?

I'll take your word boss. Might go hit the casino tonight and see if I get lucky enough to order one tomorrow.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif
