6.5" mids that will play down to 60hz with authority at high volume

Thanks to everybody for all your input. This is very helpful. I just finished my door pods and before I sent them off to be wrapped in vinyl I ran them briefly w/o deadener and with 60w rms. When they come back from the upholstery shop I will be sealing up my doors with deadener and I'll grab my a/d/s M860 amp out of the closet and see how they sound with 120w RMS.

And if that doesn't do it, I guess I'll redue the doors for a 3way front stage with a 6.5 or 8" sub up front. Thanks again.

I would also agree that to get a 6.5" driver that'll really play down to 60hz you'll need to run 3 way fronts and keep it under 600-800hz range. Most of the heavy/high x-max mid-woofers just don't do much @ 2Khz and up, or don't do it well anyway. There are a few to pick from if you go that way, otherwise, as someone else said, deadening doors, experimenting with other crossover points and phasing may fix your "problem" quicker than just throwing new drivers at it.

How do these sound? They just look so good.

I am running the previous generation of Exodus mids and they are quite nice, though the older ones have high x-max, they're geared more towards midrange since they have a large phase plug and rather light cone.

Thanks for reminding me about playing with phase. I have played with different crossover points and slopes and never was happy with it. I am running 15's and can hear the "HOLE/GAP" in freq's between the subs and the mids. That may all change w/deadener and more power. I will heed your advice before dropping in new ones. Thanks
