6.5 Component Suggestions.....

Up until today, I had a pair of 6.5 JL Audio TR650 Coaxial's in my doors, powered off my Pioneer P4000DVD.

I finally stop bs'n around and made two runs from my mid/high amp (which is a Hifonics TXI6006 (150x2 @ 4ohms) to the front and instead of running the wires into the doors themselves, I simply tapped into the wires behind the head unit. Everything works fine.

Right now, I have my front and rear speakers running off that amp, but after I get some new components, I'm gonna disconnect the rear speakers from the amp and let those just run off the HU.

I have a budget of roughly $120, for a pair of 6.5 components that can basically take up to 150w RMS. I'd like to stay anywhere from 90w - 150w if possible.

I've been looking at Phoenix Gold and CDT comp sets. I'd like to stay away from Kicker and Pioneer sets...as I've had bad experiences with them in the past. I love JL audio, but I believe I can get what I need at a fraction at the cost, atleast with components. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

so ignore the 40,000 praises of RSD65cs's?

I would think at this point in my "car audio life", I would understand the difference in passive and active crossovers, but I still don't. How in the world do I give my mid and tweet different amounts of power?

I like how how that guy suggested Pioneer. LOL

PG RSD set is garbage. Harsh woofer (just try listening to electric guitars at moderate-high volume) and the tweeter is kinda harsh too. The set does handle a lot of power, but that's about all it does well. It's hard to find a decent component set for under $150.

Pioneer D series fit his budget perfectly maybe you should go listen to a pair //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I think he said that cause the OP clearly said not to suggest Pioneer because he had bad experience with them in the past.
