Up until today, I had a pair of 6.5 JL Audio TR650 Coaxial's in my doors, powered off my Pioneer P4000DVD. I finally stop bs'n around and made two runs from my mid/high amp (which is a Hifonics TXI6006 (150x2 @ 4ohms) to the front and instead of running the wires into the doors themselves, I simply tapped into the wires behind the head unit. Everything works fine. Right now, I have my front and rear speakers running off that amp, but after I get some new components, I'm gonna disconnect the rear speakers from the amp and let those just run off the HU. I have a budget of roughly $120, for a pair of 6.5 components that can basically take up to 150w RMS. I'd like to stay anywhere from 90w - 150w if possible. I've been looking at Phoenix Gold and CDT comp sets. I'd like to stay away from Kicker and Pioneer sets...as I've had bad experiences with them in the past. I love JL audio, but I believe I can get what I need at a fraction at the cost, atleast with components. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
