Hi everyone,

I've recently had my jl 500/1 running a skar 10, the new model, now running a new fi x10 and it doesn't seem as loud as the skar, but the fi is rated at 750 rms plus it has the compression plug, te skar is rates at 600 rms, what is the 500/1 putting out rms wise, I'm thinking I need a bigger amp maybe,

500/1 is a strong amp. Will definitely make rated power or a little more. Possibly the Fi needs a different box than the skar.

should allow it to break it bro and it should get as louder then the skar and also might require a diffrent box than the skar

What about getting a bigger amp, maybe outing out 800 rms or is that a bad idea, like a hifonics brx or ppi? I need guidance in a right direction, I'm not sure about my 500/1 I bought it used, I don't know if its getting old or what

500 rms is enough to push it but not enough if you want to get near the potential of this sub. I'd suggest getting something a little more powerful and possibly a different box depending on cubic ft and what it's tuned at..if its ported

Is the sub a dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm?

It's a dual 4 ohm running it at 2 ohms, I'd like to give it around 800 rms, it is a ported box and it is in spec with the volume internally

Yeah I agree. Something that will put out 750-1000 rms at 2 ohms would be perfect
