$50,000 and an old tahoe... help me spend it

not that I need to justify myself to anyone, buuuut a couple points here:first- I have not, nor will I, be building an spl vehicle. I didnt ask about that either.

second (and the meat of the discussion)- this is play money. I have other income, and several very lucrative investments. this is money im willing to toss out the window on a rapidly depriciating asset, using the reasoning of "hey this sounds like fun, let's do it!". this isnt a daily driver, this isnt my only car, this isnt a significant amount of funds in my financial outlook. this is a toy. if you cant grasp that, or cant agree with that, well.. dont do it. bit.if you think this is a drop in the bucket to me, youre wrong.

nah, I get what hes saying, but I think he may be assuming this is like my life savings or something, lol. I got investments and savings covered!

in all honesty, I have a trust fund, partial ownership in the family business (large iron foundry) (which amounts to getting a quarterly check, no actual work with it) and I work for the federal government (aircraft maintenance) as a way to keep myself occupied. I put in my 40hrs a week just like you. I was given a great life, but I still work to maintain normalcy.

I am a civilian. But yes, i work for the airforce on tinker airforce base. Im a wg10, wife works for department of defense as a gs15.

I dont have 50k to spend on audio. I have 50k to spend on a whole truck. Inside, outside, mechanics, suspension, brakes, etc.. I wouldnt imagine ill spend more than 10k on audio. As for why i chose this forum? Im a member on here, smd, and caco, and a visitor on ssa and diyma as well. I post only on this forum, because i like it here. I follow builds on smd, i try and learn on diyma and ssa, and im on caco because occasionally they have a good thread!

Meh, as with any blue collar worker like myself, we do what we can. Sometimes people just get lucky and find that little niche' somewhere/somehow and instantly become wealthier than others. Weather it be a start up business, an invention, investments, etc. Just wished I had known Microsoft or even the energy drinks years ago I would have invest $$ into them and now would be sittin' pretty good on not so worrying much about what the future outcome will be. Or if I was one of the 3 powerball winners recently lol

Company I work for isn't so great.....very profitable, some of the horseplaying workers I've seen, leadership to the wrong people, new people that got seriously injured recently (4 within last month), management needs an overhaul, just hit my 10 year mark, and got my usual 3% raise based on hourly wage, etc etc.

Enough about me, lets get back to this build you wanna do/create.
